I love it. Since you're so used to doing mid-evil stuff that influence on your sci-fi gives it a interesting feeling. I like the technique, and I think it goes really well with sci-fi instead of skulls and bones.

Dare I say it....this is flikn superb.
Pic - Awsome
BG - I'm loven these simple backgrounds, creates perfect mood. Doesn't detract from the focus but produces the right (imo)atmosphere.
Crit - angle (vert and horo) perspective of face in relation to helmet is off.....a little. Gotta get picky with you pro's |

Veb, I haven't commented on your pics because I wouldn't have anything say but the usual "OMG!"-stuff... And you probably know it already that your stuff is amazing, so it wouldn't be any helpful.
There's definitely some magic about the colours, the background. So depressive... I like it very much.
These non-conan pictures are just great. Just don't stop posting them! |

You've had lovely technique as long as I've scoped these boards, but the oil-painty-conany type feel really had a sort of been-doneness about it, a certain apprentice-to-the-master thang going that (as I saw it, anway) hurt your work, or just failed to make it stand out.
For me this new style and subject matter is really making your work.. work. So to speak 
More I say. More.

Nice to see you doing some sci-fi work, good change in direction.
I like the styling of the armour and the gun. The helmet is a nice touch, it has an insect-like feel to it, praying mantis maybe.
