Well, as someone living in capitalist China, Hong Kong, I can tell you;

1. the Chinese peopole are mad as all hell over the fact that one of their fighter pilots are missing because a US plane was spying on them. Chinese internet posters are calling for China to develop a blue water (long range) navy to enable spying on the US;

2. the US are just plain lucky that crew wasn't shot. The only reason why not is because China wants to enter the WTO this year and wants the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Got to love em! Looking forward to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Not that China is actually going to win anything

im not going to voice any opinions on wether or not spying is wrong. i dont think people can realistically take such high opinions of any government, since pretty much all of them dont give us the facts. it is definately true that china's media is state controlled and probably influences the chinese. but in the united states we have no way of knowing what the majority really thinks because we only interview bicycle delivery boys on the street, and various other weirdos. then we try to pass it off as the whole country of a billion people. what i will say, is that i believe there is no way that the crash was the ep3's fault. maybe they shouldnt have been there in the first place, maybe not. but i dont even need to know anything about aviation to know that something that slow in comparison to a fighter plane is not going to cause a crash. this is definately one of the reasons the chinese are holding the plane, including trying to get information from US technology(which i dont know shit about). But the only actual record i have seen of this is computer generated by the chinese. if they're not releasing the actual record of the flight and providing their own version you can bet that theres something they probably dont want us to see.

keep in mind i haven't watched the news for a while so if i said something stupid in the mess just tell me i'm an idiot.

a military special operations unit works at cnn. foxs news/abc/nbc/msnbc/cbs/cnn just shovel propaganda type B.S. non-stop.
the right wing controls the media, and because of it the airwaves are filled with disinformation and half truths.

i have to read european news, just to find out whats going on in my own fucking country.

Take a train pass and visited Europe in a couple months. I guess that makes me well travled too.
