I printed a Valentine's card out of this, I hope it's reason enough to smile :)

Wasn't gonna show this at all, but the forum deserves its card, too. Thanks dhab.

edit: Oh, now that I'm posting...

The guy has been left alone on Mars, there was supposed to his spaceship launching in the distance. No similarities with any stupid movies intended.

both r marvelous, man.

it took me about 1 second to realise this thing is a spaceman and not some structure. it's just 1 sec but i think it's 1 sec too much. maybe more details that will help recognizing this thing as a man and not an object. maybe a crack in the ass (sounds kincky, i know) or more contrust on the buttom of the legs. i dunno - u r the talented one.

and the bird is sooo cute. i think the eye looks like it is painted in a differend technique than the rest of it, but that doesn't prevent the pic from being great!

they don't all need their own posts

Cosmonauts can'd afford cracks in their spaceasses. Doesn't make you wrong though.

Dude you rule... Love that poor little birdy. Looks like he just missed some one. Love it!
Everything else rocks as usual. I wish I could do stuff like that. Or maybe I could but am at a loss when it comes to cute things.

Keep em Coming

Wow!
That bird is amazing Gecko. I love the texture - is it a Pinter job? And what res is the original? I'd love to be able to get that strength of character to my texture and brush strokes.

Fantastic work Gecko, I'm in awe.

Cute stuff is a nice change to the usual.. fun to try out. It's all photoshop, mostly simple custom brushes.. a few dots in line or a bunch. I think this is 33% of the original.

Woo, I like the guy on Mars pic. How did you get the inspiration for that?

What kind of music do you usually listen to?

Mostly pink floyd, and then whatever my little sister has bought (I rarely buy music myself). That can even be stuff like Spice girls sometimes.

Gladiator soundtrack is great, so is bunch of finnish stuff, but as I said, it's almost the same if I listened to some radio station.

Oh and the mars pic was janne's idea. I wanted to paint something I haven't before and asked janne to prevent it from being another dinosaur.

It was the same thing with the gas masks, stuff I would never have come up with on my own.

i don't say this often, but i absolutely love the bird. the technique is excellent, but as you know by now...the most stunning aspect of this is the emotive effect.

damn fine job. if i wore a hat, it would be off.
