Think about this. You get in an accident, you fall out of a window, you get hit by a drunk driver, anything. You die. All of the friends and people you knew on the Internet would never know. I mean, who else is close to you and knows all your passwords, you favorite forums, accounts. Where you hang out on the net. We would never know if you died. What do you think?

that is, if you've not been a known name for rather many years around different parts of the 'net as have some of your real life friends too.

Its really not that bad.
For some of us, if and when we die or dissapear from this forum(or anywhere else)
no one would really care .. even worse, no one would even notice ? ...

Come to think of it ... if i died right now, it wont really matter much.
So my friends would miss me, some would cry even. And after that life goes on. And in three months, they would be living their lives like always.

:\ ... thanks Ian .. im depressed ..
i think i'll hang around Orchard towers or something alone.
It IS saturday nite, i should not even BE at home.

PS: faustgfx
Its a shame youre not 666 man ... so close.

I don't know about that...I know a person or two both in the real world AND the Net.... Not that I want to dwell on the prospect of my own death, but don't worry--you'll know if Socar Myles checks out early....

Good point Ian...I'm currently writing a text document with all my usernames and passwords to place in my banksafe for my relatives...

And yes...I'm REALLY paranoid!

I know fellow students here who frequent on these forums. Somehow I think the word would leak out.

Now as sick as it was to think about that, im erasing it from my mind.

*finds this whole thread incredably amusing*

If anything, the real world is less likely to notice my demise than the online one.

Seriously though,

I've died five or six times since last March and no one here has known at all. But did you know that:

anyone lives in a pretty how town
(with up so many floating bells down)
spring summer autumn winter
he sang he didn't he danced his did.

Women and men (both little and small)
cared for anyone not at all
they sowed their isn't they reaped their same
sun moon stars rain

children guessed (but only a few
and the down forgot as up they grew
autmn winter spring summer)
that noone loved him more by more

when by now and tree by leaf
she laughed his joy she cried his grief
bird by snow and stir by still
anyone's any was all to her

someones married their everyones
laughed their cryings and did their dance
(sleep wake hope and then) they
said their nevers they slept their dream

stars rain sun moon
(and only the snow can begin to explain
how children are apt to forget to remember
with up so many floating bells down)

one day anyone died i guess
(and noone stooped to kiss his face)
busy folk buried them side by side
little by little and was by was

all by all and deep by deep
and more by more they dream their sleep
noone and anyone earth by april
wish by spirit and if by yes.

Women and men (both dong and ding)
summer autumn winter spring
reaped their sowing and went their came
sun moon stars rain

I've had a If I die.doc on this computer for the last 5 years. It contains the directions for my family and friends if I suddenly or slowly die. I have a section on what to do regarding the internet.

However, how many of you here would actually care if I died?

Its wierd, friday night, and im at home because im an 18 year old male trapped at home. Parents giving curfews suck... So here I am, on my pc, watching 20/20, which just happens to be having an episode on Timmothy McVeigh. I remember when the Oklahoma bombing occured. It must be horrible, a scary thought I could never imagine. I am at home, thinking of what would happen if I died. Right now, if i think about it, I don't really have any REALLY CLOSE friends. I mean, i have friends, no doubt, but they're not the greatest at the moment. They shaft me, they're always bugging people including me, and I can seriously say, these arent the best friends. I am basically 'friend-hopping' from one group to another. Right now, these people, we pass our time by standing outside at lunch smoking our lungs away, and toking on a weekly basis. Is this what I really lived life for? No, I don't plan on doing drugs my whole life, I am still experimenting. I know I will eventually find new friends who will accept me for who I am. I dont really see the poing in having the best of friends right now anyways, by the end of the next school year, everyone will probably be off to other provinces, if not to the states for university, and we will all split up. We will all be like little children in kindergarten (sp?) again, finding new friends, finding out about eachother all over agian, giving first impressions, giving lasting impressions. I am sort of in a depressed mood right now, thinking about my future. If I die, its true, I won't have the good friends that I want to have that will mourn over me. Sure my family will (of course), but friends, they'll shed their tears, they'll give their condolences, and they'll all bow their head in sorrow, but I will be forgotten to them in a few weeks. I was reading bluesnews today, and a member of GOD had died of an asthma attack at the age of 37 or so. THat is so young. What is life for if you're going through so many changes so often. It is sad, this is true, but life goes on, I wish it didnt, you want to be someone to everyone, but it just wont happen. Sorry if this got anyone else depressed, but think about it.

1. I dont plan on dying.
2. If I do, I plan on exploding with such a great magnitude, everyone will feel my wrath...the wrath, of the hamster.

That's what draws some people to celebrity, isn't it? To be remembered by generations after your death...

People like Einstein, Galileo, Plato and Shakespeare will be (and are) remembered thousands of years after their death. On the other hand, people like Hitler, Stalin and Ghengis Khan are also remembered, for a differen reason.
I wonder if it is worth infamy just to be remembered by future generations... These presumably are the people who did believe that being remembered is equal to immortality.

On another note, we all will be remembered by future generations, but not as individuals: we'll be known/remembered as statistics and incarnations of the times we lived in. Who says statistics aren't full of life?

Nah, statistics are only finite and mortal, as it is with everything else ... technically speaking, therefore, we don't really exist - not now when we're remembered, and not in the future when we're not.

Can anything, after all, "exist" and then "cease to exist ?"
