Hello ... again.
For all those who don't know me from before (few months back) - hello, nice to meet ya.
Perspective is not my strength, yes, we know that. And above you see another proof. This is nearly WIP, because I wanna redo the sky completely.
Kinda got used to PS6. But, argh, the sure changed some things around. Especially the brush-solution is a $#@*$!! pain in the ass. Oh well, ramble, ramble ... see ya later!
PS: This image was inspired by the 'Oil City' sketch from, like, last week ago ... the poster's name was 'TheNexx' if I remember right ...

great piece man. i was wondering - in what resolution were u working on this one?
and i like the sky just the way it is.
(we love u just the way u r. don't change):-)
what tools do u usually use - airbrush? paintbrush? my drawings are usually not "sharp" enough. i wish i could make my stuff looked like this.... |

Awesome pic! Nice to have you back loki, definately been missing your pics here.
I'm always a bit wary of symmetrical composition like this, but, heck, it seems to have worked out okay in this. The lighting seems a bit acute in the foreground which makes the round pipes seem a bit jagged and 'flat' but I'm just being pernickaty.
Fantastic and very moody. |

Are you decided to try yourself at miniature? Eheheh... welcome back dude!
These smokies looks really cool. Love the color choice. Why not to build a simple 3D grid to check the perspective? You've done this stuff for jupiter image afaik.

Hey Loki! Welcome back from whereever! This is probably my favorite of your pics. Cool atmosphere. The scheme reminds me of a cross between BladeRunner and MadMax. |

Hey Loki, beautiful colors as usual. I have to ask though: your composition is throwing the biggest focal point top center, but there's nothing there. Might want to stick something up there that's interesting-otherwise we slide off the page. Maybe a futuristic version of the princess in the high tower? :]

yummy picture ! and so sharp, did you use any 3d models to start with ?
nice to have you back Loki, hopefully you won't disappear again so quickly this time I did see on your page that you had colored one of francis's pics. I never saw that one, that was really nicely done too. seeing the work on your page, you're skills have really improved since the first pictures you have on your page (not refereing to the amiga days )

Hey guys!
Thanks for all the crits! Much appreciated!
Ceenda: you're totally right - the composition is one of the main problems - maybe I'll crop it differently. Still got much to learn. The flat pipes also need to go - thanks!
Leo: hahaha! My 3D side wasn't up and running - but now is, boy, the next image will be a 3D massacre!
n8: hey m8ey! The sky doesn't have a whole lotta perspective in it ... aaargh!
Chapel: thx! Stay tuned for more ...
Anthony: You're soooo right! What could we put there? A Zeppelin maybe?????
Joachim: Thanks dude - good to be back! No 3D models to start with, just some (wrong) perspective lines. Next time I definetely 3D it out - on Win2K it's much easier too now, since I don't have to dualboot to get to the 3D-package ...
Thanks for seing an improvement ... good to hear - because it's still a long long way to go ...
Synj: shoot, dude, so the .com deathtoll is rising by one? Get a nice demoreel ready, if you don't have one, then let me know - pleaces are hiring like crazy right now ... !
Are you still up in Burbank? You should come down to the beach and visit us!
The original resolution was around 4000 pixels for that one ...

Hey Loki
Its about time your back
I always check to see if youve posted anything.
Man you have a sweet sence of color. This is looking good man, But you know this.
Hey, Iv checked your websit quite a few times and I noticed you have an ICQ number. Do you use it?
Well if you do it would be cool to talk art with yas.
Also I remember you saying something about a friend of yours who did concept and finished work for Final Fantasy IX. I was curious if they had a websit. I would love to see some of there work becaust everything in the Art of Final Fantasy IX book is awsome and Im sure they have a few pics in there.
Also do you have a nice High resolutin version of this you can E-mail? I would like to see a much bigger verson so I could look at some of the detail more clearly.
Anyhoo, Im rambling.
Hope to seeyas around the forum more often Loki

Binke! Good to see you! Step by step will come as soon as it's finished!
Blitz: ICQ is not happening right now, since I'm only on a 56k modem, but maybe I cave in during the next days - so don't kick me off your list yet - I would like to shoot da shit with ya
Hires version is difficult right now, because, guess, - 56k. But maybe I'll have the patience soon ...
No, my friend at Square does not have a website as far as I know ... he also worked on 'Dark City' and 'Fifth Element' (that's when I met him the first time). He's a great artist.
Du: no, never touched Max ... Maya is my favourite 3D poison, when I get a hold of it of course! |
