this is my pet cocker spaniel / retriever mix as he sleeps on a sheet-covered seat near the computer. Done in painter, my 2nd time ever using painter. critique if you want, but it's not a really finished piece, just not something I'm gonna go back and work on some more. BTW- anyone know any good painter tutorials?

Hey thats a good start! Add a few darker values and you're on your way to a great piece. Check out Don (Seeg on this forum) Seegmiller's site http://www.seegmiller-art.com for some great tutorials. He has some paper textures and brushes for download also (he's great I tell ya!).
::: Don, if you see this, I want to thank you for the great tutorials and artwork! Your Heaven and Hell piece is my current wallpaper, simply awesome! :::
Take care.

Great start. Nice fuzzy, warm feel here -don't lose that.
The bend in his body is a tiny overkill - it makes him look ... a tad disfigured, especially with his tail curled in this manner ...
Great work - also work on the fur shading - look in your photoshop folder, you should find a nice fur brush you will find *invaluable* when painting fur.
Good luck ! |
