This is about as finished as it's gonna get. So I might as well drop it in here.
Figured I needed some practise in drawing rough surfaces. An exercise in drawing rocks/cliffs. Took about 2-3 hours @ 3000 pix. on the horizontal. Scaled it down, sharpened it a tad and messed around with it a little further. So it looks a bit rough and incoherent in certain places, sorry 'bout that.
No references used for those dying to know.

Nice...
I wish there could be some stuff there... maybe look at a mediterranian landscape for reference.
Reminds me of childhood near the sea.

Yeah, the rocks on the bottom left look like they should be 40-50 feet away (10-15 meters, if you use the metric system out at Alpha Centauri.) But there isn't any mist in the way. Also, the edges where the rocks meet the sky and the sand don't look quite right. The problem with where they meet the sky is, again, the mist. It's lightening up the rocks, but then the sky right above them is a clear blue, as if there was no mist in the way whatsoever. Then where the rocks meet the sand it's just blurry, which doesn't look quite right either. You'd be able to see a definite line between the two, there would just be less contrast.
Anyway, assuming you kept the fog on a different layer, these things should be easy to fix up, and I think it would help your picture enormously. |
