I just started building a robot with Maya 4.
I'm going to make him high rez. This is what I have after an hour and a half.
I'm not really looking for any feedback yet but if you want to comment feel free.
Oh and if anyone want's to help me out with the feet that would be great. I can never come up with feet. And Ideas out there?

hey the sketch looks rad, sorry i cant help with the feet, because sadly, i have cant draw feet disease too I really love sketchy drawings sometimes even more then the finished art.
Just a question, how long does it take to learn to do basic modeling in Max or maya ect, I want to add some 3d stuff to my folio and interviews are in less then a month!
Good luck with it, post updates so i can learn from this! |

Hmmm dunno about jetpack feet I know what you mean I did that when i was younger in my doodles (laziness lol) i dunno.. its like... ghetto styled old cartoons. I say draw the feet and make him stand like a chicken or something, ya i like it so far, drawing is whoop ass and i believe model will be as well |

Very cool, I say forget 'feet' and have his legs like small jet pack things that glide him around.
Nice work so far, want to see it done. |

Thanks guys. I was hoping someone whould do me a sketch for the feet but suggestions are just as good.
THE LAST GOONIE: it takes a while to learn how to model. I went to school and had instuctions and other classmates around helping me and it took me a couple months to learn the basics. I'm still learning and I finished school over a year ago. I'f you're going to learn how to model then don't put anything to learn in your portfolio. Not from a months worth of learning anyway. Unless you're some kind of prodigy or something.
prototype 4.7: I was thinking this guy was a big tall guy who would stride around. I don't think jet packs would work for what I'm going for. Thanks for the suggestions though. |
