This is a bit of a "spoof" concept I am working on...not
sure where its going yet, time will tell.
"Cheri the Cherubim"
Boobs have the extra special power to poke out your eyes...
plus they double as a bouyancy flotation device, or can
assist in VTOL operations.
Halo makes a sexy head ornament, is a highly accurate
"Discus of Death", or can function as a frisbee for beach
side festivities.
Standard attacks:
Hoof kick to the head...hard to pull off but very appealing
to spectators.
Hoof kick to the groin...deadly to the target when it
connects.
Long lashed eye batting...standard charm effect.
Special Power:
Gratuitous Bend Over Panty Shot...nearly unblockable.
Renders the target speechless, invokes severe memory loss
(i.e. they forget their name), and infuses a strong desire
to "make love not war" (or more appropriately, "I just want
to stop fighting and have sex..."). Although nearly
unblockable this attack renders Cheri very, very
vulnerable.
All C&C is welcome Thank you
Inked her up...looks okay reduced, but I struggle with achieving that "smooth, bold" line...anyway
Finished Pencils, here...

and what else did I want to quote?
I can't figure out exactly whether the appealing creature in the background is standing on the ground on flying!?
Maybe you should make two seperate pieces from this sketch? It's the same charakter...right?

Thanks, Andy, I appreciate it Actually, my idea here is that this a conceptual drawing, and as such, I wanted to show a couple of different aspects to the character...its not really a "stand alone" image. In the smaller (ahem, booty) shot, she is actually "hovering", but the wings don't really capture that. Glad you liked explanatroy info, and thanks for your time! |

yea the information about her does change the way i look at the piece--it makes her have personality--i love the way you made the body and the perspective of it--nice touch on the booty shot btw--the only thing that throws me off are the wings--i dunno quite how to explain it but if i had to say something--i guess they just look kinda flat compared to her--nice cleavage also!! :P |

Gosh, well thanks, folks Much appreciated. Thanks for the crit Insider...I think you are right, the planes of her wings aren't quite dynamic enough. To some extent, I think my inking helps this, but in general they do look a bit flat...the "hover" (ahem, booty) shot, in particular...Next time, better on curvy wings Thanks again! |

Awesome. I'm interested as to why she has hooves, maybe something something to do with the duality of woman. |

iandredd, many thanks...as to your question, you know, I am not sure. it well could have been my warped subconscious at work, but conciously, at least I was just going for something in the fantasy/morphy realm
hi gargoyle, no you're right, her forearm is long...my exegarrations are usually intentional, and I tend to lengthen the forearms and lower legs quite a bit. Actually, I shortened her forearm from the first cut on this. Thanks for the C&C! |

Thanks, Binke...would you say her fine tusch is "paddleable"?
dizzypope,
well, thank you kindly. My inking is done, well, very carefully. This is one of my best inking efforts to date. I think the thing that improves my inking the most is forcing myself to do tight pencils. I use Micron pens of varying width...this paper was not bristol board (which I prefer), but a medium weight drawing paper which worked well. This was also the first time I printed out the pencils as a "blue line" and then inked that...so, I was not risking screwing up the pencils, I was lot more unhibited with the work. I still made some booboos, which I fixed in Photoshop...uhm, does that answer your question? sorry for the novel thanks again! |

Hi Uninspired,
Well, you sure broke out the chargers and zapped this one back to life (don't get me wrong, I don't mind ...anyway, well, tips..well, I'm serious here, my first tip is don't draw women like I DO! Essentially, one should learn to draw in a realistic fashion before moving into exaggerations, and I work on my realism from art anatomy books and life whenever I can, but as yet I am no master, and am not really qualified to provide you tips. Any bona fide artist will probably tell you that what I do is way out crazy, and I would probably agree with them. However, I do have some bona fide sources for my procedures. My first basis for anatomical exaggeration comes from the Classis Greek Artists. They apparently developed proportions for the human form that were based on 2/3 the length of the body from navel to toes. This makes for long legs and a short torso, which is conisdered by many to be "appealing"...next I lenghten forearms and lower legs...a make the long parts on the extremeties and also slightly enlargen hands, feet and head. Alot of "popular" exaggerations can in fact be seen in any Barbie Doll...sad (perhaps) but true. The image posted here not with standing, I am not really a "boob" guy and only exaggerate boobs as necessary (but would shy away from porn pics to get "big boobs down"...I just don't find "fake" ones attractive and prefer to just experiment with the breast line until I get something that I like and it fits the character. These are just my opinions based on artistic procedures developed by artists far better than myself. So take it for what its worth...remember its free advice, and could well be worth what you paid for it! Regardless of all that, thank you kindly for the props and the question! |
