Three And A Half+ Hours WIP:

Anywho, I did this with a mouse and yes my wrist hurts.. can't afford no damn wacom tablet heh.. if i could i sure would want to get a wacom intuos2 6x8 BUT THEN AGAIN It's my second painting in photoshop (only been using it for editing photos and such before hand)

Ok ok, its late but I have a few questions (that hopefuly would be answered when i wake up hehe or answered soon by the moonwalkers among us here So here goes

First of all, is there anyone here from sheridan college (oakville/missisauga, ontario, canada), I'm from burlington and plan to go there, i want to meet some people from sheridan I just finished grade11 (im in the 'new system' with no OAC grade).

Second of all could you people guide me to some sites that have tutorials on painting in photoshop (just to get familiar with other techniques)

THANKS ALOT! Again I love the stuff you guys make, hmm i wonder if i could 'qualify' even a bit to compete against the quick painting thread posts heh

Well thanks in advance for your friendly replies ^_^

Just a few more things. The neck is too long and bring the ear in and down a bit. lets see some hair on her already it could really help center and might hilight some other corrections we need.

Well, you are definatly a go getter. Don't let anything change that.
Here is a small crit.
First are you working from a picture? If so post it.
Second some of your perportions are close but not quite there. Along with the shape the face a little off as well as, the neck.

Ok this is an unknown amount of hours (and frankly I dont care no more Its a good learning experience AND HELL TIS IS FUN ) I am thinking of including this baby in my portfolio for sheridan too (I just started drawing/collecting stuff for sheridan so this seems like a good bet if it turns out good as i want it to be) Anywho here it is:

I sorta devised a little method to draw fluid hair in photoshop (yay no mouse troubles no more..sorta ) I need some advice though, any tips of sorts for the hair, which way should i make it flow and such (it took me like under 5 minutes for the hair i like the fluidy feel but i need some more advice on how to improve upon it, i know its obviously not realistic yet)

Wow, gig she sure is purdy. Great job. Put this in you folder for Sheridan, but keep working and improving and eventually you will bump this one out of the folder. keep it up. Take you hair layer and place it on one of your first posts and look at the difference.

Hey that was an excellent tut, I kinda managed to do a similar thing but the way the tut does it is really really awesome. What I first did was just paint with brush on diffuse, then smudgy smudge But the new brush I made and the way to do that tut was very useful.. hmm but thats kinda just to get the texture of the hair :/ any tuts on form? Whats use of texture if it has no natural feel of hair His advanced hair tut kinda just describes how to do texture of hair on form.. well sorta, any tuts that go in a bit more detail on hair form? THANKS

Gig - pretty good, your right though you do need more form. If you don't colour it now, you can always come back to it. Funny some others might not agree with you about how helpful this forum is. People like to help those that like to be helped. It is encouraging to us to help those that are willing and do the changes we suggest. Sometimes we say something, and people say okay, then continue the way their own way.

Hey Giga, I suggest working the halftone drawing for awhile. Skip the shading. Reason being that it forces you to focus on form and define light and shadow. You need to learn form and then worry about broadening your values. Besides, halftones are more fun - just keep hitting "x" to switch between white and black, and keep the brush hard, with the tablet controlling the size only. Quick paint over of yours

Hey! Anthony? Anthony from BFP? lol if it is, we worked together on BFP Hmm you are so right. When I first started hair it was a blob of white and black. And the whiter parts show on the right (and yes i have lots more of form there) but the left it was mostly greyish so no form in the end! When I tryed dodging or applying white it just didnt turn out the same (not reall a quick fix around it dunno i just suck heh)
