I've been lurking on the site for a long time, and have finally decided to post something. I am attempting to paint something similar to old renessance style, I know I'm not even close, and at this point I'm just playing around with placement, colors, etc. Any comments, or paint overs would be greatly appreciated.

You have a nice start here, different classical poses, but I don't really get what is happening in this picture?
And on another note I think you should avoid smudged edges, they make life much harder when you start adding details to picture. That is what everyone is telling me when I'm drawing |

Thanks for the comment. I guess I'm not sure what's happening yet either. I was thinking that the guy in the front had just fallen down, and the guy to the right was pulling a cart or something with the rope. And the roman soldier is watching over them, I was going to add less detailed figures working in the background and such. I'm starting to think I should have planned out the whole drawing first. It started as just sketching some different figure poses. |
