some of you perhaps remember my cook on wheels. well he has lost his firt battle, his wheels and arms. now i am redoing him, but i think i need some advises on the shading, on the light, where it has to be dark, and where is light. it' not finished yet, but i want to do a good job, this time, so i really need help. thnx.

ahaa! the cook.
actually you already added shading on the cook (animation styled) so the question is quite unneccesary.
for a more realistic look you should draw
the character more anatomy-correct
search for an 'interesting' light set up
and maybe do something like

this?
but practice is the key word here..

the shading looks fine be me for
a simple (animation) shading.
maybe make some areas larges and a pinch darker - also the chair needs a more
clear shading.
you can compare your pic with thisone.

I thought the shading on the chair looked a little off and that there needed to be a line between the seat and the front of the chair. here's my quick fix

The dynamite was just me playin hehe sorry
