This isn't really a stick figure , and I think you should draw some real stick figures to find the pose that looks right. Or use some volumes. That way it's easier to keep an overview of things. It looks as if you sometimes lost the overall view.
Try to sketch in long and uninterrupted lines, too, after a while you'll do it automatically.
Tighten it up! Pay attention to the pose, make it more interesting. And don't fill in the details yet (pectorals are often just defined by shadow, and so are other muscles). Try to find a pleasing silhouette, then go further down the road. And have fun, BlackMunky!

By the way, I'm a new member, so I'm wondering if you like the way how I criticise. Criticise my critique: not too blunt? (Just trying to sense the atmosphere around here.)

Thanks alot Jome your criticism is very helpful and much more productive than Nulltygre's
as I said it is a really rough sketch and I still have to leran a lotabout human anatomy, but thanks again for your criticism and I really appreciate it.
An updated version will follow ....

Nulltygre's comment is true to some extent. You got the shape of the katana all wrong. Katana is usually lengthy, thin, and straight, and has a circular or oval shaped hilt. It should look something like this:

Also, you should image search "samurai" at Google, it will return with hundreds of examples of how a samurai should hold his sword. Use it for your future reference.

Hi Guys,

I don't want to bother you with my stick figure but that way way I might prevent early mistakes.
After I finished my forest landscape (-->finished work) my next painting shall e a samurai. I would appreciate any comment and especially correction ^___^

That is one big sword. I would like to see more. Be carefull about your foot placement. also when drawing the figure dont forget the pelvis shape. If you draw the pelvis shape in lightly before you ink it will help you make sure the body has the correct shape and length. Also the legs will attatch properly. Hope I made sence.

cant wait to see him progress

it's a cool looking weapon and all, but it's too big to be a sword and too small to be a halberd/poleaxe/asdf.
