Looks good. His left leg looks a little akward, but not implausible. I love his expression though. What is he a character for?

He reminds me of Spike from Cowboy Bebop, with the strong square shoulders, long legs and crazy hair. He looks like he could kick some serious ass, or has just recently gotten back from kicking some serious ass.
I really like it. Does he know kung fu? |

here's one of my characters. this is not the final version. actually this one is kinda old and i've only drawn'm twice.
anyway, he's one of those sarcastic and melancholy type of characters. he's got a loser's attitude.
personally i don't dig characters with in- your-face attitudes. those are too easy to make up and rarely have any depth.
anyway.. somebody, anybody, say something..
what do you think of'm? or it? whatever..
character and drawing itself.
click here and if all goes well geocities won't fail me |

pat:
he's one of those back from retirement types. somewhat forced actually. he's a secret agent that specializes in monitoring and disbanding terrorist activities.
hatred for all:
i love spike. that's one of my favorite characters. have you ever created something you thought was pretty original. something you spent a lonnnnnnnnnng time on. the story/charaters/whatever and outta the blue some one [with a production house] releases a very similar story. so much so that it pisses you off and you feel obliged to change your story?
well the characters in this story are like that. there's this guy and another guy whose a partially robotic, a lil girl cpu genius(actually she's an a.i.), and a strong willed former terrorist chic whose has a price on her head. sound a little familiar? well i'm reworking the characters a bit b/c the similarities btw this and cowboy bebop are too apparent.
(btw.. the cowboy bebop movie rocked)
geoman 2k:
thanks.. that's what i was going for. i mean what's a character without character? |

Ha - Pilgrim,
One time back in highschool, my friend let me borrow his guitar, and being a violin player I suddenly thought how cool it would be to play the thing with a violin bow! What a cool idea!
Then, not even a month later I saw a Led Zepplin show on VH1, and the guy is slaping his guitar with none other than a violin bow.
I was crushed. Or pissed off and wanting to change my whole bow-guitar technique, as you say.
Anyhow, I say in these situations you should continue your story exactly the way you have been from the start as though you'd never heard of or seen the thing that is similar. Because the important thing is: your creation and the similar creation of somebody else might have some very big things in common at some point in the tragectory in their completion, but I'm sure the original idea for both, and the end result for both, are going to be different enough for the in-progress parallels not to become apparent as much as you might think. |

blurry... hmmm i did that on purpose. why? i tend to like blurred out images on sepia colored pics. just a thing with me..
anyway here's a clearer version.
hatred for all:
i'm trying not to change the story all too much b/c i like my story, but certain elements i'll change. it won't be a major changes though. that'll pose a challenge for me as i'm trying to get as good as i can in creating stories.
sometimes if i can't think of a story i won't draw at all for a very long time. concept art without a story bores me. it doesn't have to be anything major, a short story can even be told in an illustration itself. anyway i'm rambling.
pilgrim 54:
that's characters not charaters. partially robotic not "a partially robotic." who has a price on her head not "whose has...." proof read!

He reminds me of the User's character in Grand Theft Auto III. What a great game! |
