spent a couple hours on this earlier tonight. It may theoretically show up in the letters page in White Dwarf later.
I'll know tomorrow...
In progress. I'll spend a couple more hours on it before it's done.

Thanks for the feedback guys... sorry it's taken so long to update it, but here's almost done here... need to finish the hands and feet and some slight textural work, but...:
wish i could make the background of this page white... hehe. Tried to make it look like good interior art, blending into the page and all... |

Wish I was more familiar with the game (?) from which this is derived. Looks good -- very acrylic-inky. |

Little Bee: Few who are familiar with the game are fimiliar with the Kroot (and Tau) yet. They're the newest army in Games Workshop's warhammer 40,000
here's
another shot of a couple kroot squads. |

As done as it's going to get for the magazine.
(steve needed the file today so i'm glad i'd done some cleanup on it this morning... added the blade, tightened up the stock of the gun, gave him another toe and polished his right foot a bit... etc.
If i do anything else to it, i'll post it in Finished Work.

Hi Jero, i don't know if he exists any more, I cant get White Dwarf mag around here, do you know the artist who used to do those really cool greyscale Airbrush?graphite? pics for white dwarf, the last time i saw one was 3-4 years ago, but I've been trying to find out ever since?
I know this probably doesn't help much, because half the pics in the mags are B/W, so don't feel bad if you don't know who it is, because i know you will!
Oh and very nice pic, the detail just kept coming and coming, learnt alot about finishing pieces |

Swany, glad you're liking the progression. It's always good to know that people dont' get mad about lots of iterations.
The guy you're probably thinking of is Mark Gibbins.
I couldnt' figure out where to find any of his stuff just now until i remembered there was a Dire Avenger in the online store:
I don't know what happened to him, there's a couple wierd rumors, but i think he went to work in Comics or something.
He's about as hard to track down on the net as Kev Walker. |

BTW, war hammer is a great inspiration for people wanting to draw Sci-fi stuff, when i was a kid, thats all i used to draw, how are you at painting your minatures?

I only really got into 40k around the turn of 3rd Edition, so it hasn't been hugely long. I really dug the universe and especially the Eldar right off.
here's a link to some sample 40k work i've done in the past
ehh, my painting could be better if i cared too much... i'm really in the "good enough to please me and hopefully looks decent on the table" mode.
one of my favorite conversions.
one of the better paintjobs i have online right now.
I like the new scheme i'm using on some stuff now... *digging for images*
guess that's it.
