Remember the 3D Orc pix I was showing? Well I've got an animation of this Orc now if anyone wants ta see it.

Orc Animation

Please let me know what you think.

Soon I will have a 3D background and new animation to show as well.

Here's a concept for the new background...

Thanks!

Nice nice nice.

Very cool indeed, glad you have worked on it since last time. Looking good. I just wanna see more of him, more light!

His rigth arm (from the viewer: left) looks just a wee bit stiff tho. Nothing big but everything else is amazing, especialy the cloth.

And that background seems very cozy indeed. Gimme some more of that!

Kad: Thanks! Since this is a WIP I will be updating the whole thing once it is in the final background.

Munky C: I definitely agree with you on the fingers and the arm could be more loose..I plan to do a new anim once the background is in and really go to town on it. This was a last minute addition to my reel, and a change from several freeform attempts to CS footsteps. I am using 3D Studio MAX 4.02 with Character Studio.

Pat: Hey thanks..yeah I wanted him to do *something* interesting besides just walking..and the loincloth reminds me of thin sealskin...it took a while to get the settings down but I liked how it came out.

Tone: Hey thanks!

Dryfire: Hey it's an Orc! Kidding..why thank ye...hopefully I will have something for the background up here soon and can show that..then I will show that textured and finally, with the Orc walking around or interacting with it somehow.

Halogenic: Yep..I am going to fix that arm and move some fingers around..then re-render that puppy..these are good suggestions. I agree with all these things..at a certain point I had to lock in my reel and get it out there...but any new reels I send out will have the improved version of this anim and the start of my background model.

Thanks for the comments so far!

WOW! I take it you work for Blizzard just by looking at your website. Awesome animation, my favorite part of it is the way the loincloth moves with the figure, excellent work. Later.

Cool animation and the thing that struck me was the stiffness in the arm and the right arm seeming to stick out a bit too far. Still, very cool.

Looks good, I like him! How many people worked on the WC3 trailer? I heard you had a hollywood cinematographer, is that right? Nice job, keep working hard! :]

Awsome work.

Say, that guy has a huge neck eh? I imaging it would take an enormous axe to cut through that.

FIG: Thanks Fig! I'm not at Blizzard any longer..looking for 3D jobs in the L.A. area. Glad you like the loincloth..did that with SimCloth which is a handy free plug-in which I really like.

Matt: Thank ye kindly..yep I am actually tweaking some details but I am having some Character Studio technical problems I am trying to work thru...plus I am trying to find a better way to animate the CS arms with forward kinematics while still using the Biped footsteps. Thanks for the comments.

Anthony: Coo glad you like it..how many worked on the WC3 trailer? I'd say 18 or so, some more than others. Don't know about any the Hollywood thing you speak of. I did this on my own by the way..not connected to the WC stuff but certainly inspired by it.

Jock: Why thank ye..yup he's got a big ol' neck and big ol' traps to help resist the axe blade...I actually want to dress him up in some more armor and straps..it is a bit bare bones now but I've been busy getting my reel and website updated. Hey you know I tried to download your axe movie but the codec is not working for me..which codec did ye use? Can you make it available in another format or somethin'?

Jock..

Hey cool anim...the axe needs more 'weight' with those swings..but very cool. I could see those two fighting...oh yeah when he falls back his axe should land a little better too...how did you do the hair? Shag hair or some other method? Clue me in dude..nice loin cloth too...like the axe model as well. The hair needs more density up front but it is a great effect.

You definitely need some morf targets on that face too and I'd make the eyes move more naturally..perhaps more darting movement with a facial smirk? I love the eyebrows and the model is cool too.

Good job...the codec works!

In LA eh? Have you tried Black Isle down in Irvine? Jason's pretty cool, you could ask him if they have any openings right now.
