hey darkstalker1guy, well, the one positive thing i can say is that i like the colors. the rest doesnt' make much sense. it's disproportional, especially with the hands, the head isnt' really hanging, the lighting is generally in the right place, but generally that won't cut it. the specifics, and the sharp details are what count,
as well, the whole image is dirty. I imagine that'w what you're going for, but if you dont' want the thing to look flat, emphasise the lighting, and shadows over the dirt.
keep it up man,

hi!
first of all, i advise you to NOT use photoshop filters when painting.. you should use them only for design stuff. The flat look comes from that filter you've applied, and the spot light you've rendered onto it. Think that the contour of the light should be broken and curved because the rocks and the body..
other things that increment that sensation of flatness are:
- the texture filter you've used with the floor doesn't have perspective,
- there should be more shadows in the side of the body opposite to the light (our right)
- the sword on the floor doesn't have much perspective, too...
to make the image darken or disgusting, i'd make colors greyer and less saturated, and increment the contrast between shadows and light zones..
go for it! hate filters!!

First off let me start by saying this is the most help I have had since joining Sijun.
I did the majarity of this pic in painter.
the wall texture and floor was done in Photoshop as well as the lighting . I cannot for the life of me remember what filter I used . I do have a copy of this prior to using photoshop so I will try and use some of the good advice I have recieved . Damn I forgot the lensflare on the sword ! HA!
The hands I drew like that on purpose ,bad choice . |

i agree with the top two posts for the most part... looks kinda like you used plastic wrap filter or like an emboss in the lighting.. which you really didn't need too. I was just wondering why the shackle on the left was so much better detailed than the right?... |

Thanks Dryfire , I know I want use that filter anymore . As far as the shackle they
started out the same ,but due to a filter i presume it was destroyed . That is an easy fix . my previous save does not have this
problem it is very light and colorful as well
as clean Not the look I was tring to obtain .
I will have another go at it tonight !
Thanks ! |
