thats kind of interesting. i dont know much about landscape painting, but you need to distinguish the background from the foreground more. |

Yes I noticed that as well, But I'm not sure how to make that differentiating through color. Since there isn't anything there except dirt. Heavy shading or what?

Generally, in landscape painting, pay particular attention towards making closer objects more contrasty, and further ones more muted. Your 'mountain range,' could use what is called "Atmospheric Perspective." That essentially means, the edges are too crisp... being so far away, they need soft edges.
The foreground would have higher contrast and saturation than the background.
Say you had two rectangles that went off in perspective (like a drawing of a dissappearing road /\ <-- sorta like that. If one rectangle were light, it would grow darker as it fell away from the viewer. If it were dark, it would grow lighter. The edges up close would be crisp and clear, while the edges would become hazy as it fell away.
