2 messes. The hitchhiker was inspired by Joachim Barrum's sketch (on his site), but otherwise no reference.

The hitchhiker looks great Steven,; highly detailed/sharp face and breasts, of course. In fact, I first thought they were floating rocks, which I thought was pretty funky in a sci-fi kinda way. =)

The vampire pic already looks much better than the previous one(s). His hand is lit in yellow, although there is no light reaching there (not even by bounce). Sadly, I still beleive you must damage that beautiful face of hers with some dark.

I really hope you don't mind too much, I took the liberty of doing a small paintover to illustrate my point, which you will find here: blearghl

Hope it helps!

BLEARGH?! That's great! I'm so ashamed, why I couldn't do that myself! The details inside the house, my mind was a blank... you nailed it. The glass! Same thing, your imagination instantly went "specific" while mine stayed in "general", how frustrating. Holy flying crap it's good now! Yes you're also right about her face. I'll take care of this tomorrow... grumble grumble...

BTW your comment on the hitchhiker - you thought her breasts were flying rocks at first??

Haha, dang, I just realized I missed a sentence up there. =) I was referring to the floating blimps, not her breasts. =) hehe

Glad you liked my projection of it. The pic inspired me, and, as it turns out, it's much easier to add your ideas and touches to someone else's pic than it is to create one from scratch... you made the image with an image in mind, one I did not have, so I could easily pick up without looking back. Most of my images suffer a lot from being made in the same mind set after the same stupid goal I can't get to. Sometimes a clear mind will make you see those things you missed all along.

cheers,

(you kick my butt in modeling with your eyes closed, so...=)

wow, those are just beautiful. the i think the hickhiker needs a little more background, and i think the vampire would look bether if it were a little more sharp... but it depends on the style your goin for.

Frost - good grief! Steven's got a great rev. goin' and then I see your repaint. You might think it's easy to see those details you added...but they're not really obvious, until you see them like you demonstrated. Humbling. Thanks for the lesson.

Ok, did it - I copied and pasted Frost's image... no just kidding. But I liked it so much that I followed it very closely, as you can see.

Both pictures are VERY VERY nice!
The detail on the airships you've added is awesome. But as said before i think you should darken her face a bit.
The imrpovements you made to the vampire pic are also a major improvement, very nice job!

I wanna see further progress on these pics, so keep posting, ok?

I like the improvements made on the hitchhiker pic. For some reason, I really dont like the rock shes standing on. Add more depth to it maybe?

Hi Steven,

I think that the flat perspective on the building is making your job tougher. I like the shapes in the new curtain better than mine.

Thanks! Beautiful! Better colors (and light of course), the haziness works, love the flowers and the stonework on the window (is that a bat?) and yes the perspective works better too. Will try to implement... now must sleep...

Only thing, i think her skin looks alittle ruff, and hand a bit small and static(nitpic)
but i like what ya did with the hair

spooge... thats awesome, the bat above the door is a nice touch!
always fun to see what you can do with ones work

was looksing at the newest version of the hichhiker, and allthough i love the pic, i don't really like what you've don't with the hair. i like the curls and all, but i think the it looks like its getting into her face too much, and kinda draws my attention away for the face itself. remember the hair should be like a frame for the face.

[edit] one more thing... i think i liked the left arm better when it was on her side, not holding on to the rail. made her look more confident and casual- like she is not afraid of falling off the cliff. having her hand on the rail takes away from the charactor a little.[/edit]

thats just my 2 cents
thanks for listening

The new hitchiker is very nice, however the arm holding the railing looks a bit thick, im usre you're in progress of drawing it but i just had to point it out anyway.

Great images!! I really like the hitchiker, but I have to agree that I liked the orignal hair better.(personal opinion) I like the composisition of your vamp as well.
Hmmm, not sure if I said that the way I wanted to but can't seem to think of anything else to say except. Can't wait to see the finished pieces.

Well, then. Great stuff. The slight caricature nature of the girl is pretty cool. Both are really nice. Especially without a reference picture.

Here's ol' vampy again. Arg I'm getting tired of this image, I think I'll take a break from it now. I still love Spooges colors better (duh, of course!).
Thanks for the comments everyone, next I'll be fiddling some more with the hitchhiker I guess.
