Hi,
this is a work in progress version of a drawing on the theme of the rogue woman. Any advice comment or critic is welcome.
It is to note that the black & white version is available for people who would like to give a try in colorizing it in a different way

I really like the shadow on her left arm and on the leather of her "shirt" "brace" dunno the word... :/ oops
I have a small grudge against the hair but that's maybe just me... I still think the shadows are too strong. Maybe you could try and shadow the upper part under the hood and let the light play with the longest strands.... anyway, I like the way it's going :)

Looks very neat. I have a few suggestions: I agree with the comments about the hair...not only that, but I think the hood is showing too much hair. I don't think the way it falls open on the left is natural.
I like the eyes and the brooch, especially. Is her right arm complete? Right now it looks awfully flat compared to the left.

So, to avoid mistakes I have to say that the first picture (in the opening post ) is what I would call now for my part a final version.
the one presented by roundeye ( with a smaller bulge ) is based on the precedent version, where the right arm was not finished ( this is where you are true Eric Pommer )
Concerning shadows and light, I would take any advice or demonstration to help me improve my style. I know my current style is using quite strong shadows and colors, and I don't succeed in softening them.
About this "wrong bulge" it was a choice : I wanted to give her a rounder belly and not a strict flat muscled belly. It seems that worked
Thanks everyone for your comments...
About the head and the hood falling, I agree completely with you guys. I found the shape of the hood great when I finished it, but I realized then that it was wrong with the head size. But it was too late to modify that at that time

Here's my 2 cents. Artistically it's good. Technically, the only problem I have with it is her right hand. It needs to be forshortened more so that the knuckles are seen at the contoure line. Also the fabric I think should register more that it is being gripped. IOW, the change of it's direction at the hand should be more drastic. |
