I guess I'll put it under the works in progress since it needs coloring. But the inks are all done. I spent 5 hrs on the first version of this when I realized how much it stunk. So I started fresh with another sheet of Digital Paper and went another 7 hrs on this. Resolution isn't too great since some of my feathering looks like grayscale but they're not. Exclusively done in PS. Original PS file is only 2k bigger than this and 3x better resolution..I wonder why JPEG sucks at compressing now..

JPEG was designed for photographs, with large smooth flowing color.. and so it doesn't work very well on sharp line art.

Thanks Guys. Milky, why don't you come to paintchat anymore? Must be busy on yer site though. Buddha, I don't normally do line-art like this on PS. I do it inked and don't bother scanning them. And only recently have I started to get these figure proportions semi-right..I think:P Evil, yea..Flex did influence me, though is it that apparent on this piece?

Anyways, here's a new colored version

Oh btw, Toasty, I figured it out, using the save for web and the save as in Photoshop makes lots of difference. Save for web gives you the option of optimizing it

edit: oh, I forgot to mention that the story is from the JRR Tolkien's book: The Silmarillion. Chapter about Beren and Luthien. After spending almost 10 hrs total, though with many repaints, I still don't think I'll have time to finish anything.. heh..maybe I should get to work on that comic my friend started 7 years ago..hehe..no wonder I'm not done yet.
