Why can't I see about half of the images on this forum? All I get is a small white box with a red x in it.

first of all, read what section your posting in, before you post something. this section is work in progress, not discussion. and the reason that red x's appear is that geocities is becoming a giant piece of shit, and a lot of people host their still.
