Hmm guess my newyears resolution off the forum didnt work hehe . Anyways While i was " on vacation" i spent alot of time trying different ways of painting ect. So finally i found a way i was comfortable with soo i decided to start a painting. Thanx to Gecko who mostly got me into things. sorry i didnt put a background even though gecko was basically screaming at me to put one in =). Well right now i am putting in the detailing and workong on the lower half of the body. I still have to detail the accesories. Also i am working on the armright now. Oh and before some one flames me this dwarf is off the boxe cover of the Everquest Game. Maybe its not true art to you guys but its a big accomplishement for me and i like how it will end up looking.

spent alot of houres on this dude ( MY REAL first and serious attempt at digital painting) The gasmask i made before was not taken seriously anyways... Whatcha think soo far?

i have encourtered problems doing the hair and beard anyone suggest any methodes??? i Have only put in the base color of the hair no attempts were made yet. I just dont know how to do it =)

Hehe, I was halfway through your message when I scrolled down just enough to realize this was from the Everquest box. "Uh oh", I thought. Of course, I read the rest of the message before saying anything to see if you'd say anything about it

Looking good so far, I mean, I did recognize it right away as the piece you're referencing from. I don't have the box handy so I can't compare but I think you'll want to look at both the hands again, they look a little off.

The dark shading you've got on the backside of the arm looks a little off in color to me. As for the hair, you might wanna look up Enayla's hair tutorial... http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/Forum2/HTML/007654.html . If the link doesn't work then just do a search on 'hair tutorial' and Enayla and it'll be the only one there. It shows one really good way to go about creating hair. Generally I do hair like anything else-by blocking in lights and darks over a medium base and then building up detail in those areas using finer and finer brushes.

You've got a good start going on this. Finish it up or at least keep going with it until you've learned all you can from doing it. Hope any of this helped.

Hi Plouffe,
I think it's looking good. Only thing it's that his skull must be insanely high, because the helmet is attached very strange. Put the helmet on, and I think you'll have a more compact, fit4fight viking. Being from Viking land, I guess I should mention that Vikings actually never had horns on their helmets. It's just a clich, but I can't remember how it started. But in very, very early findings of Viking/bronze age helmets they have found horns on "special ceremony" helmets (don't have a big enough vocabulary, sorry.) Maybe everybody knows it... maybe not. Ooops, babbeling, sorry..

Nice start, finish it up!

kjetil, thanx for comment. but according to the cover that is how he is =) i thought the helmet looked weird too. Hmmm he is not a viking, he is a Dwarf. YOu know everquest fantasy game hehe =) might look bigger because i dont have a background and or a human beside him =) ...

If you ever go to a computer store go look at the cover of the game =). Or if anyone here has a link to the cover to show every one would be great =)

well peace. Thanx for looking at my pic
