amazon is stupid....i went to the site to purchase art of warcraft for $17US which is around $33AU or so...anyway...i was about to throw my money down and take it when i saw them offer me a special which included the fellowship of the ring artwork. I was like "wooo"...but that was another $24US or so. My dilema is that should i just go the single art of warcraft or should i get the other one too. Ordering it from america and all it will cost me around $110AU. I was wondering if anybody has these books and could recomend them or fix my dilema. To get LOTR art or not to get LOTR art, that is the question. |

you can get that LOTR book anywhere any time. the WC art book is prolly more trouble to find/get in.
I think amazon is pretty pricy for overseas purchasing anyway. you might want to take down details of the WC book and see if someplace local like borders will get it for you. you won't have to pay as much for shipping that way. if you live outside the US, only really need to go amazon if it's something hard to find..or if they have a really really good price.
as far as those books go. I didn't get much at all out of the LOTR art book. there are far better ways to get Alan Lee and John Howe art. and the stuff in the book is not their best IMHO. the rest is a bit blah. but I know people who disagree:P
I have the WC book too and I quite like it |

I have the Art of Warcraft book (bought the collectors edition of War3) and it's definitely very very pretty, with lots of concept art, full finished pieces, renders of some of the high poly models, tidbits of information, etc etc. So I recommend that. LotR Art I haven't seen.
After a check at Angus & Robertson online, it looks like you'll be saving ~$20 buying them from Amazon. Have you done a local check of bookstores and EB (I know EB stock the AoW book)? Didn't think they were that much, but sif I have a good hold on reality. @;-) |

I pick up the WC3 art book Canberra for
$39-00 at Electronics Boutique in Woden.
Very nice, love all the art work and love the game.
Some of the same art work is availble on the WC3 web site and the WC2 web site. |
