I don't take a viewpoint on how good/bad druhs are in general. I just don't want to do anything, and I find the fewer external stimulants I need, the stronger I am for it.

But tell me, do any of you get 'reality twists' like I do? Sometimes I'll just sort of drift off, inside my head and thoughts, and I can't really perceive the world around me. There's nothing odd about that, everyone can get a little preoccupied from time to time, but what happens when I snap out of it is that it feels like a ripple quickly proceeds from the front of my brain to the back, or maybe like my brain doing a somersault. The world just... twists around me, not visually, but the sensation and the way it fucks up my thoughts for a bit is like that. Thee feeling is also sometimes associated with the feeling of a foreign thought being inserted into my head and then quickly forgotten.

So I don't want to do drugs. Am I weaker because of that? Am I prejudiced? I don't think so. Besides, I had a small bout with epilepsy when I was small (Nothing major, just some kind of disturbance in my left brain lobe. A mild epilepsy) and that makes alcohol and drugs riskier than average for me. My point, finally, is that I see no need for externally stimulating the imagination. It's all inside you already. It's just about learning to control your mind.

Jess : life can make you do all those things normally just from stress too

Guybrush: its not abuse if you use it correctly. used abusively chocolate is bad for you too, so is the oxygen we need to breath.

but no, im not gonna argue im quiet content to leave people to their unfounded by experience views.

Doctors told me I'd probably never manage to put on weight thanks to chrones disease and that my health was dependant upon their tablets also.

I stopped taking their advice, didnt see a doctor for 4 years, put on a bunch of weight just doing things my own way.

Shame that I doubt you can connect point a with point b guybrush.

but not for me

I think Guybrush was being sarcastic... I mean, 'drug abuse is bad. It's illegal.' - is that a ridiculous statement or what? Then again, Gore was the man who claimed to have invented the Internet, right? (Is this really true? It sounds too stupid...)

ugh, havent followed this thread for some days....

anyway, Rorshach, i think you got me wrong... i was using that phrase sarcastically like affected said
in fact i find it ridiculous.. i dont understand why george bush (for example), who's said to have smoked weed when he was 'young' now takes in THIS position.. (don't know about his drug-strategys, but i dont think he's gonna legalize anything)... while knowing how harmless weed is!!
for me, i'll stick to mother nature and smoke my head off with weed every day.. and sometimes we do mushrooms (which is always SOOOO fascinating..). i could tell hundreds of good drug stories here, but who wants to listen ??

to make it short, do what you wanna do hehe.. but don't tell anyone what he's gotta do (DONT TAKE DRUGS !! DRUGS = BAD !! FUCK THIS!!)

If you must know. I've never had a drop of alcohol (unless Nyquil counts :P) or drugs. I've also never had a shot, besides when I was first born. I VERY rarely get sick.

there ya go now eehhh,

Too many friends inhale, so 2nd-hand smoke doesn't make me barf. No smokes nor drugs for me. I dig wine, sake and an occasional beer.

Got a perpetual creative buzz.

I used to be a total caffeine addict. On an average saturday afternoon i'd easily empty 3 thermoscans (canteens - not cups or metal coke/beer style cans) by myself. It really takes you to another level and dragged me through some heavy exams Im off it now though, it messes up your skin somehow and makes you feel sweaty all day.

Just tea for me...at breakfast and at work. No smoking (the smell of smoke in your clothing is so fucking disgusting), harddrugs or softdrugs. I do enjoy an occasional beer though, and on special occasions, getting totally plastered can be just fine.

I can pretty much honestly say that I never even tried smoking in my life, I have tried a sip of champaign and beer (only like 2-3 sips in my whole life) but i don't like that kinda stuff, dont taste good... about all that stuff i say about vodka? i'm just fooling around! (hehe i dunno about shizo tho)..

Umm, more than half of my class did drugs before (i'm in highcshool), and most of them smoke/drink badly...

Personally, i HATE!! HATE!! when people smoke in the same room as me... kinda go by "Why demage your body when you don't even enjoy it" when it comes to peer pressure (like when people dare me to smoke or drink stuff, just aint worth it).

and after an hour of reading this damn LONGASS thread... I came to a conclusion, most of the people that are addicted, dont do drugs nor drink (dunno about Kurisu, he seems pretty addicted but he also seems like he is on drugs alot, LOL... j/k).

and I NEVER take drugs (for headaches and stuff) unless its completely necessary...

I'm a reformed(ish) smoker, Sad to say the main reason I gave up was that you need to be a millionaire to smoke in the UK! (3.50 a pack!) However, one thing I could never do without is my Alchol! Call me weak but life without Guinness isn't worth living!
I've never realy been into recreational drugs having been in the British Army for some years - if your caught with naughty substances in your urine then you're out on yer ear! I do use Painkillers quite often due to a knackered back after a road accident but I try to avoid taking them unless the pain is really bad.
At the end of the day it comes down to individual choice - you can choose to have a pure, untainted body or you can have one like mine which is in desperate need of an oil change!

I don't smoke but I do drink about one or twice a year. I don't do drugs at all. I have to really be hurting to even take an aspirin.

About what was mentioned earlier about alcohol and the government...
If alcohol and tobacco was discovered in the world we live in now, they would never be allowed. They would be illegal like cannabis or other narcotics.
But the fact remains that they are here, and they aren't going anywhere.
Socially acceptable drugs are what you see everywhere:
uppers, downers, alcohol, tobacco etc. etc. ad infinitum. Hey, people feed toddlers antidepressants or mood-controllers just to keep them quiet. And I think in the future this is only gonna increase until the point where drugs will no longer be prohibited, but more likely altered to provide a safer "high".
Hmm, another confusing incoherent post by me. Enjoy.

Read 'Gun, with occasional music' by Jonathan lethem for an interesting vision of the future... A future where drugs are not only legal, but free and widely available. (Among the other odd things in the book.)
