try to practice making smooth lines by drawing two points, and then drawing a straight line from one point to the other. once you get your lines straight, try to attach the points with a curved line. that helps if you've got shaky hands...
But also most artists probably fix their lineart a bit on the computer after scanning, as somehow it seems easier to notice the mistakes after scanning than on paper.
Anyhow, that's all the advice I can give... Has helped me so far. |

The bigger the picture, easier it is to hide imperfections when you scan the picture and put into Photoshop. You can see imperfections in the line art of many great artists like Doug Chiang(if you have the Art of Episode II you can see if you look closely, that the Lineart isn't flawless).
But practice helps a lot. |

Funk im gonna tell you the secret to inking and making smooth lines and nice clean line art :
1: Pratice ...and pratice a lot
2: Find a good pen and use good ink
3: Fine good paper which does notlet think ink run or absorb to quickly
If you do all these things it will help you greatly , mostly it takes 100 or 1000's of drawings to start drawing nice smoooth detailed drawings ... good luck |

Here are two tips.
1. Use a Windsor Newton Series 7 sable brush. The larger the better, they hold more ink and enable you to get very varied line widths. They're very pricey. (Over ten bucks usually)
2. Draw from your shoulder. |

he means use more of your arm action than just your wrist... i think... a lot of artists have the problem with only using the wrist when drawing... with small paper it aint that bad but once you get to bigger paper it starts to be a slight problem... IMHO just draw how you feel ok... |
