ok guys and gals, this is my last year of highschoool. i need you people to help me find some art related scholarships. i plan on going to bradley accademyin York, PA. it is local, good and cheap . if anyone can find me some scholarships, or a good job, that would be wonderful. (i am not talking about a job flpping burgers at McDonnalds either ). check my site and see if you can make any recomendations. i really appreciate this guys.

love ya, man, but i think it's time for a reality check. you don't waltz in to college and expect a scholarship, and -unless i hear otherwise- members of sijun aren't handing out scholarship grants.

i had a 'much' better than normal portfolio, myself, and i think i scored $25 for art supplies. be realistic about this. you'll probably qualify for a pell grant, and those help out a great deal. don't think you're special, because you're not. we all have to pay our dues, and you simply don't pay them in high school. you have to really stand out as an artist to land a decent scholarship from your portfolio, and -my friend- you don't stand out. no one really does right out of high school. there are the exceptions, of course.

i'd focus on getting in there and busting ass. if you excel after your first year, you may land a scholarship for future semesters, but those scholarships are usually set up on a semester basis, where your grades can't fall below a certain gpa. as an artist, you also have to actually do some respectable artwork.

now is the time to suck in the ego, and pay the price. this means working at mcdonalds if you have to. student jobs were a hard find, but students work them. i was on shit detail for months. as an artist, i feel obligated to tell it like it is. it's not easy. you have to consider all of the thousands of other art students graduating at the same time you are, who want it just as bad, and have more talent. you have to compete, man, and that means more than just what you have on your site... that means busting hump every day to further your artistic growth... learning what you can in all those areas that are not always pleasant... perspective, color theory, draftsmanship, figure study, sculpture. we all have room to improve, and you do too.

your post struck me as assuming you're gonna be on easy street, and just saying, "i need you to help me" to the peeps here.... well, it comes off as pretty egocentric and far from being realistic. i'm trying to help by providing this reality check. i hope you take it for what it is. peace.

yeah mike, i know what you mean. i was doing more of a search for anyone who has some places where i can find some [i]applications[\i] in a sense. i was not looking for any handouts. but, thanks for thie information feeb-o. i will see ya later man.

If only life would be soo easy. Ask for scholarship and get it . Ask for someone else to find a job for you and get it hehe.. If i knew life was like that i would be president of Canada. Scholarships are pretty easy to find just HARD as hell to get it. YOur competing against hundreds of other art students for scholarships. Soo what makes you any different then others. YOure going to have to work hard to get it. No offense but your not more special then the next guy trying to get that scholarship.

Hmm and well what type of job are you trying to get? YOu concept artist ? painter? 3d guy whatever.. Anyways my point is your still pretty damn young soo dont rush and im pretty sure you arent prepared to work in the business. Even if you were AGain no offense but there are hundreds of professional artists that are out of jobs and a shit load of artist much better then you that cant find jobs.

soo in all work hard and everything should pay off..
