Flash is better for the web because it has smaller file sizes. But Director is the most powerful multimedia software that macromedia has on the market. Director can contain flash in one of it's movies. It can incorporate quicktime and windows media movies. It can generate real time 3d interactive envirnments. Most importantly Director has it's own computer scripting language called "lingo". Basicly you can do whatever you want in director if you know how. The down side is that the file sizes can be large (possibly an entire cd if you use video). All of the pre-scripted actions that you have acess to in flash are gone in director(you have to hand code everything).
It is much more dificult to learn than flash imo. |

One other big difference is price. Flash is $400 while Director is $1,200. |
