i got the pdf and all that stuff but just doesn't work. can't pull the damn nib out. tried "gently with tweezers" as they said
tried with everything. can't pull it out. maybe it wore out too much? there's like 1mm left... maybe some trick to pull it out?

wonder if you could anchor it to something with a bead of super glue?
(warning, the opinions expressed in this post are not necessarily those of wacom inc.) |

That's what you get for speed painting.
I'm not sure what you can do. Just pull harder, it can take a bit of beating. (next time take it out sooner!) |

1mm??? wow, that's pretty extreme... i recently replaced mine coz i had somehow worn it down to a rather sharp point (the cause of the scratches on the surface of the tablet... )
i'd say forget about the "gentle" bit... just yank it out (straight, please! ) |

*lol* Reminds me of the time I nearly destroyed my pen trying to get the nib out.. The thing was I tought the pen had to be pulled apart in half, and not just the nib removed from the tip!
My advice- grow your thumb and index finger nails utill they are several millimeters long, then use those. Only trpouble is, it takes a while |

Wow!
You all got me crazy! I havent had my wacom pens long....but i tried to pull them
out before they were worn down. I used my teeth and couldn't remove the tips.
Next, I went into the bathroom and used a sharp pair or tweezers. It worked.
But when I pulled the Nib out , there was about 1 inch of nib left. I don't belive
this 1 inch of nib, pushes it's way down. Is this just "useless plastic? that pisses me
off (if it is just useless plastic). I think we should all complain to the company!
If they don't do anything about this design flaw, I think we should combine our
idea's and come up with a "household" thing that would replace the nib....
Any comments!?! Please let me and everyone else here know! |

bigfoot, if wacom made the innner bit really short, it would be akin to breaking your pencil, then cramming the bit of graphite into the wood and trying to draw with it... also, the extra plastic is what pushes on the little pressure sensor in the pen, as far as i understand it... |

Someone on this board posted once, a while ago, that you can trim plastic toothpicks down and they work just as well. |

Hi... LoTekK,
I can't agree with your pencil therory.
With a pencil, you can sharpen it . With this "bit of plastic" it cant do anything
but be thrown away.
I find this totally unacceptable. There are Tech pencils. that "push out lead".
Why not tech pens that push out plastic? |

what i'd like to see are replacement plastic sheets for the top of it. on my old graphire i didn't have any replacement nibs and ended up scratching the @#$%$$# out of the plastic sheet from having a sharpened pen nib.
getting an intuos2 for xmas made me forget about that problem for the moment tho. i'll have to keep in mind the teeth-as-tools for the nib replacement.
mr. t? did you get it out? |

Cool ;-)
I had the same problem today, i tried different things but the best way for me was to use a normal pliers ( those with a sharp edge between for cutting cable )
Just with al little pressure and than move it out and replace it
I worked so fine ... |

Btw, one method you could have tred using is to heat up a needle over a flame to heat it up drastically, then plunge the needle into the tip, melting inside the tip, wait some 20 seconds to cool off, and pull it out. Of course, the idea is to change it before then.
It funny how some people's nibs just wear out so much -- I've been using a tablet for over 4 years, and I've never changed a nib once, although the pad covers end up being scratched. |

why would your pen be burned? your not supposed to light it on fire, your just supposed to heat up the needle? |

spooge, cutout a thin stripe of tape and glue it around the tip to make it bigger. Then try to push it in, i'm sure it'll work.
So u like my signature? |

I've heard several people suggest toothpicks, but they don't work for me. Only the official nibs work. |
