Would you consider Picaso an old master? I think I was refering to 19th centuary painters and back.
Ehh if I had a second chance to use the time machine so to speak I would have to pay a visit to Lord Fredrick Leighton !! His attention to detail is mind dumbing!!

Magic Pen - If your ever in SF check out the
Bouguereau painting at the Legion of Honor called the "Broken Pitcher". It's still my favorite painting ever.
Anyone know where there are any of Illya Repin's work? |

Michelangelo Buonarroti
Hands down the most fantastic painter of all time. The man had a way of painting the human form that was simply breath taking. Many during and since the renaissance era have tried to copy his style, yet no one has ever succeeded. I look at a lot of the painters mentioned above and I see a LOT of Michelangelo copy cats.
I won't even bring up how much of a master at sculpting he was.
I would literally give just about anything I hold dear in this world for just a few moments with him.
(With an English to Italian language translator of course. )
