OK Zee_Man, and all others, you win, every word above is just nonsense, nothing makes sense, especially from my point of view, nothing worth reading, education, unions, guilds and certification is just totally worthless crap ... we are all equal, as long as we would like to make art, we are all equally great artists ... from Dumbo the trunkpainting elephant to Da Vinci ... all we have to do is to get hold of a magic wacom tablet ... great ...

Irony and sarcasm are great tools.

Dumbo PAINTED? sweeeeeeeeeeeet.

HawkOne - you know that I and hopefully all of the others were not trying to dumb it down that much.. It's just us overdoing a defensive reaction to the accusations against non-educated artists that many of us commonly are presented with, that we took some of your words as. I think you've seen that I understand your intentions a lot better now, and you do have a lot of valid points... So I think this one's done, and thanks for all the insight, comments, information, calmness, and for conceding at the end.

Just an update to anyone who cares - I'm still completely without ideas on the web site thing. eh.

Oops, I forgot my suggestions!

Anyway, I just want to parrot everyone else and say very simply, very clean. Make sure whatever font you use is *very* easy to read. The understated graphics (like a simple outline of a face, etc) are also a great idea.

What you may want to think about is not aiming the site only at girls. It may be happening in the girl's body, but everyone has a brother/boyfriend/husband/dad/etc. I'm sure there are guys that want to know about abortion, and I think it's sad that everyone seems to forget that. If you added a section for males, I think it would be very considerate and original.

And here I have to disagree with bigfoot. "And as far as "girly" urls.....You'd be better off thinking.....School urls, college urls, Music urls, Dating urls, medical urls, skin care urls, clothing urls, etc. etc."

NO. I don't know how I can make myself more clear. It's fine to have a nice collection of links. But for the love of Pete, do not have links for anything that is shopping/clothing/skin care related. Bad, bad, bad idea. I'm sorry to be so vehement, but I really mean it. Females have more on their mind than make-up, especially if they're looking up information on abortion. If you include links like that, they will be hurt and offended.

A list of female-related links like ivillage.com is fine. But you should also make a few help-related links(like depression hotlines) where they will be very visible.

Just my opinion, yours may vary.

Kaete - thanks for the suggestions. I kinda have an idea for what I think I'm gonna go for, now comes the fun part - creating the art. thanks for all who helped, the design will hopefully be up for review in WIP pretty soon.

Doah! After reading everything in here I realized something.
=Oo=
No one mentioned medical links or anything like that.

If I remember my college biology of human sexuality class, There are only about two or three very short periods durring pregnancy that a woman CAN have an abortion without the high possibility of it being fatal.

This little factor had nearly everyone stumped in the class... No one had heard of that before, but it is deffinitly something that should be known since this is their lives at stake.

The actualy procedure is also something that they should know about, because this also changes depending on which part of their pregnency they go to the clinic in.

Research on the medications used is another important factor, since these are not commonly distributed and may conflict with medications for other things, Like diabetes.

I'll e-mail specific informations after I talk to my professor (who used to work in one of those clinics) about it again for update information and stuff, but it's something that I highly suggest looking into.

This is to everyone else who posted in here:

Wow! thanks! There were so many points brought up about design that I'm absolutly amazed at everything that was said.

I'm one of those people working on a degree in graphic arts... so I'm kind of like a big sponge right now.
