it enables you to paint directly on the 3d model....it also has projection paint which lets you take a projection image of the model and paint it in a program like painter (better brushes etc) and then reimport the file through photoshop and back onto the model. it translates the projected image onto the acual uv map. I like it a lot...it makes painting textures much easier in some ways. ..probably depends on who you ask..whether they like it or not.
it also lets you paint bump maps etc... too.

i also have some questions about deep paint.
- Jason, is the projection image something like texporter? and is it easier/better?
- is deep paint compatible with brazil or other renderers?
- i believe maya has something like this built-in called paint effects, ive seen it in a demonstration. So basically i can make a complete texture with it, with bumpmapping on various places and stuff? |

well from what I see deep paint is compatible with photo shop, maya, lightwave and another progrm (I have deep paint 3d) but the problem is it runs extemylyu slow when using a psd on it. just thought I'd let you know. |
