I dunno how many know this, so I'm saying it anyway.
A while ago geocities went to great lengths to stop image linking from their space. Several work-arounds have existed to enable people to link images anyway. As far as I know all of them have been covered and no longer work.
Except this one;
rename your image files from, say, "pictcha.jpg" to "pictcha.txt" and you will be able to link it in the usual way
ie. in faux UBB code; {img}http://www.geocities.com/someaddress/1234/pictcha.txt{/img}
(replacing {} brackets with square brackets) and it will show up in the thread just like old times.
I don't know how long it will be before they plug that hole, but it works today. You should still shop around for better hosting though. |

hehe. If the address is right it appears the trick doesn't work.
I'll go check if I gave the right instructions.
Meanwhile, anyone else care to test it? |
