Im a little stuck, hope you guys can help me out. I dont have much experience with drawing, but just enough to get started with. The stuff i see here is totally awesome, i hope to become as good as this one day.
What i wanted to ask, what kind of courses did you take? Ive read some of the Loomis project, hoping to get some basic figure drawing techniques, but its not working out. which lessons/tutorials do you recommend to get some decent skills?

Sorry my friend, there is no short cut way to be an artist. Its Draw draw draw draw , practise practise practise, paint paint paint. and in between them pick up a few books and learn. or u can enroll to art school. But even if u enroll to art school, u still need to draw draw draw , paint paint paint and practise practise. And absorb as much tips as possible from those u look up to. Then.. mebbe then, an artist may u become.

Welcome to the world of art my friend.

hehe, it's also nice to have direction. some people draw a whole lot but never really get better because they draw the same things over and over again.

as to where u can find help. well books are a good start, as are forums like this one. as long as you don't follow any certain style/method as gospel you should be alright.

if you are close to a community college, you should check out their life drawing programs. they are usually extremely cheap and have really good instructors despite being a 'junior college'. you shouldn't be intimidated because those kind of classes generally have a lot of beginners too.

there's really a million ways to go about it and i'm by no means an expert on this sorta thing.
