hi,
im not a newbee on illustrator and freehand, but recently i had a problem, that couldnt be solved:

how can i use transparency with those programms? is there a simple button or something like that ?! yes?- i cant find it!
for example in photoshop its very easy to use transparency in many different ways (additive, subtractive, multiply, ...)

-> how can i use thoes effects in illustrator and freehand?

thank you for your answers

in freehand oyu have to use the object inspector panel - click the "fill" tab and set the type to "lens" - one of the lens types is transparency.

in illustrator there's a palette for transparency - just look for it, it's in there somewhere.

What version of Illustrator are you using? As far as I know, only the latest version supports layer transparencies.

In Illustrator 9 bring up the palette for transparency then just adjust with tools there. Real simple.
