A new perspective for me that is. I have been drawing since I was 5 and thought I was good. Well I am ok, but I have come to realize just within the last month that I have so much work to do. I like it here because you have shown me that but what a eye opener.
I never used construction lines, or references. I thought that I was above that and now I can admit I was wrong and my art is the only thing that has suffered for it. But I would like for others to realize this sooner than I did. You will be so much better for it.
Now I try to use construction lines but I am not clear on how to go about it. Do you make a sketch first using construction lines then redraw it using your sketch as a reference? or do you erase the lines? What do you feel is the best approach? I know these must be basic questions but I would appreciate some help.
Thanks,
tone. |

Same here.
I never use reference for any of my work.
I try to challenge myself by doing everything from my head. |

usually i do a little sketch on paper first and clean it up in the computer, and i work ontop of my drawing. the sketch is so simple, i usually use alot of reference. i don't really draw the "lines" i use the guide lines from photoshop for perseptives stuff. |
