I'm just wondering which brushes and settings you guys use in Painter? I've tried to experiment with various brushes, but so far I haven't found any setting to be to my liking...I'd like to be able to obtain the "oily" look..
Any hints would be appreciated.

The best "oily look" I've been able to obtain is by modifying the oil pastel brush in the dry media set.

I change a few of the settings in the brush menue to make it so that it doesn't need grain. In the subcatogory menu on general brush controls, I change it from "grainy hardcover" to "soft cover." Also, when I want to make the brush smaller without getting that annoying dotted look in a stroke, I go to the spacing menu and lower it all the way, but that's only if you want it small.

For a particular look to the brush shape, just fool around with the size options and those little pressure modifiers that are already given. You may even want to change the dab type in the general menu, from "captured" to "circular" that's just according to particular prefference though.

Anyway, I hope this is helpful.

God I need to install Painter, if not just for the fun brushness.
