I'm outta here. I've hung around too long hoping this place would get back to where it was when I joined. There are too many members and not enough respect here now. It seems every other thread here is some stupid juvenile argument, personal attack, or flame war. (Like this one will probably end up). Basically, this place has fallen apart and I don't think it will ever be fixed.

So, to those who I might have helped or have helped me thanks for teaching me a few things and I hope I returned the favor in some way. Those who I have talked to outside of the forum good luck with your art and I hope to keep in contact.

Hm. I just got here a couple of weeks ago. I'm a total painting newbie.. Just got myself a Wacom and started learning to paint. Compared to most forums I've been on, this one's signal-to-noise ratio is quite high, actually. It seems like a wonderful resource to me, that I hope to use as I learn to paint.

Having been on Slashdot in the early days, I can imagine your disappointment as this place has gotten bigger and less personal, but as a newbie to this forum, it still seems quite nice to me.

a place can't prevail if people keep wussing out. one thing i hope to see more of again is crits. that's about the only downer for me, the lack of any good criticism. there seems to be a lot of praise and worthless bumping for the more common posters\girls(yep, hehe), but i guess that's always happened. i'm still seeing good art and professional artists around here, and there's still good info and topics brought to light about books\schools\styles\beefs.
anyway, cya chapel.. this isn't cuz donk dissed ya, is it?

Just to clarify something... you can say I'm wussing out or whatever if that is how you feel. However, this is me not having time to filter through all the rubbish just to see a pretty pic.

Icannon: Donk dissed me, my profession, and my colleagues with one shot. I usually would care less since the comment came from a 15/16 yr old or whatever his age is, but it just made me realise how silly the forum is now.

One last thing and I know she doesn't like anyone mentioning it, but.. Enayla is a damn good artist...that is why she gets replies. If you think it is your gender that gets you hits then tell everyone your a girl if your that desperate. Otherwise quit bitching and keep drawing.

I can honestly say one thing.

To everyone, Who leaves this board, who is a real artist, I will definitly miss you, if it means anything to you.

Chapel, I loved your work. You will be sadly missed.

To all those people out there who seem to take this board for granted, here are a few words.

Everyone who has registered. Everyone on this board has talent. (Expect the people who rip off others work...) No matter, if you are slow at drawing, have just bought a tablet and have tried to put photoshop under tabs, you are brilliant in every peice you do.

There are no matter, some people who like to rip off peoples work. I find this rather sad, and indeed, rather annoyed that someone would do such a thing.

There are some things that will never be forgotton - One of them is you Chapel.

Hiya chapel. You probably have no idea who i am Anyway, hope you'll take the forum memories with you and maybe check back once in a while. Oh yah, and dhab said he's going to redo the forums and all , so you may not want to take that path.

But, in case my lousy attempts to sway you have failed, i hope life finds you well and i know many of us forum people will miss you.
We're all hoping to see your name in the newspaper within 5 years

"the good ole days" Oh well see ya. I'm staying and hope that anyone else who likes this place will do the same and make this place even better. Anyway I remember when I first joined being flamed by some so-called veteran members, so not all the degradation can be attributed to newbies. Maybe the older guys aint too comfortable with all the new guys showing up, I dunno.

What started off as a silly thread that should have ended up nowhere has brought you back and landed someone a job so far.

Green monkeys must be a good luck charm.

Loki: I figure if you can stick around then I should be able to also.

Who would have thought that a thread meant to be flamed.. would be soo positive?

Lessons learnt from the recent changes around here... Stneill777 certainly peeved me for a while, but he is now part of the community and we have no need for such a scene ever again.. (although it may happen)

I realised after seeing someone else post, that these forums are all about art, feedback, criticism, development, learning, inspiration! most important of all INSPIRATION!

I have made an effort since then to comment on artworks, and encourage constructive criticism, to be a community member...

I always try to comment on anything I feel needs a comment, wether for personal tastes or to help a newbie or someone with not many replies.. I mean how else are they going to get better, if no-one gives them a helping hand?

So with that said, I think if we all make such contributions then we will be less likely to drive any members away.. especially those which we have come to enjoy the presence of.

So welcome back Chapel... I hope you realise that we can never get it back to 'where it was'

Instead, lets make it 'what it can be'.
