Here Goes! Following in Anthony's footsteps (as it were) I'll be posting the Andrew Loomis book "Creative Illustration". For now it will be on my geocities web-site; but I can see I'm going to run out of space in a few weeks - so I'll move it to one of my other sites that has more free MB.
At 25 scanned pages per week, this is going to take about 12 weeks to finish. However, it's all the time I can spare per week right now - I too wish it could be done faster, but that's life.
http://www.geocities.com/cubic44/loomis_ci.html

I'll test this link and edit this post if geocities is being it's normal cranky self.

Happy Learning!

Q

As always, if I or any of my MI team are captured for any reason we will disavow any knowledge of this and be forced to discontinue... heheheh...so no need to post any inquiries of copyright validity.

Clarification (per comment below):
These images/pages are not intended to be viewed or printed from your browser. They are too large at 150dpi - but were set up to print on letter size paper. I suggest bringing them up in Photoshop or your image editing program of choice and printing on letter size paper.

Thanks for the positive comments. And feedback is more than welcome too!
Shardik - I guess I was assuming people would want higher quality images they could print out; make their own book, etc. - thus things have not really been set up to view or print directly from browsers. (See edited clarification above).

If you all would rather have smaller, screen-appropriate images let me know; though 72 dpi will not end up printing as nicely. I'll see how much time it takes me to "pdf" the Foundation section. If it takes more time than I can afford to take each week, I'll probably stick with the format I've set up.

Q
P.S. I'll check in tomorrow or Monday and see how things are going here.

*Mmmwah*

That's for you.

I LOVE that you have both the bigger size AND the smaller size files. That is a very good choice!

Thanks again for the wet-n-sloppies, folks!
Feedback mostly seems to favor the way things are... so I'll keep the current format. PDF trials aren't as satisfactory to me, so again - another reason to keep things the way they are.

Next installment - next weekend sometime.

Great stuff man! Keep them in hi-res. Btw, for those of you who have Adobe Acrobat (not just Acrobat Reader) you can import all those images into a PSD file, and make it all nice and easy to print :-)

Sorry for the delay in getting week "2" of this up for everyone. Ended up having to go out of town for a week, then had to relocate my studio this week after I got back. No rest for the wicked, as they say. I should be caught up and have week "2" up by next week some time.

AWESOME! nice stuff.

Thx for doing this, and remember you would have the support of many of us in the sijun forums if you needed help. Even if you did get caught you could just pipeline the scans to someone else to post!

This is excellent of you. Just thought I'd let you know that the page looks kinda screwed up with overlapping text. I use internet explorer 5.0.

cheers!

Glad to see this hasn't been forgotten and is being looked forward to by at least a few people interested in improving their work dramatically.

Errr...Moving one's studio is no easy thing, (mine). I'm still in boxes and am able to barely function and get billable projects out. However, I should be back on Loomis before the end of the week to finish up this section for everyone. I'm hoping to get back on schedule again by next week... we'll see.
I've also had to move this site's repository so I could try and fit it all in 50megs of free host-space. I might just squeek by.

For all of you asking questions about tone and color - hang on awhile longer. Loomis provides some excellent thoughts and examples in this book. Most of your questions will be answered very well,(for free..hehe). Quite inline with what Ron Lemen, Spooge, Jason Manley and many others have been saying too.
Still the best single book for the wanna-be commercial artist/illustrator.
