I'm going to hopefully finish up the Threads 'o Knowledge in the next two weeks, maybe a bit longer. Ideally, we could get Dhabib to host the threads, then everything would be in one place. In any case, you'll probably want to add a word or two about those...
For now, I've got them sitting here: http://fear.incarnate.net/~vlad/sijun/threads/
Otherwise, great job with the FAQ. Making the changes you've already outlined should get it up-to-date nicely. |

^ (I need the shades for the blinding light of inquiry and knowledge that will be flashed around. At least I hope so.)
I thought it was time to look into it again. It's been a few months and a crazy amount has happened. The employment section can be added; explanations about the split, the archive and the moderation thereof; maybe some stuff on video cards; big web hosting update; more links; more reference info for the book list; maybe some movement on archiving or something special for that threads o' knowledge thing etc etc.
From you lot (that is, the viewing public) it would be good to get whatever assesment you feel like giving. What do you think? What do you think it needs? If you're new or if you are not, have you ever used it? Did it help?
You know the kind of thing.
Also the general link list in the appendix will be updated, so if you have or know of a gallery that you'd like added then post it here. (I've been keeping an eye out for the big galleries. They'll probably get a section to themselves.) If it's your site; check if its already there, check again, then post it. (because I know how confusing it is to look at )
And don't forget those comments, this ain't a pimp fest. (well..not too much.)
Cheers |

thanks, will do.
but this ain't enough replies!
C'mon, some others must have glanced at it. I don't want to hear praise or anything, just if people have been using it. Particularly the newcomers (they being the one's most likely to have needed it)
Come one, come all. Roll up, Roll up! |

Waylon -- you should have kept the image filenames for the broken image links,... I'm sure some of them still rest in my inet cache on my other machine... |

Well, I think the number of people asking "what kind of tablet should I get" have gone down dramatically since you added the FAQ. Which is good. And I DO see people referring newbies to the FAQ pretty often. Which is good too.
Actually, now that I think about it, one question I've heard asked a lot is "what program do most of you use". You might want to add a section on the merits of Photoshop vs Painter. (Or if you do talk about that somewhere, add a link to it in the index.) |

Muzman - I just re-read the FAQ, and unless you or someone else wants to undertake organizing some of the basic subjects that come up over and over - like perspective, etc. I don't really see anything else. With the threads of knowledge hooked in to the FAQ revision you're undertaking this should save a lot of repeat Q and A.

Woops, frost, you posted your comment right while I was composing mine - didn't see it until now.
Good point about the missing images. I've been doing it that way for some of the more recent threads - but the first two or three threads I did, and the threads Strata did are missing the image names. I'll be filling that in later. |
