I know most of you here have seen the movie Contact with Jodie Foster. Well, one of my favorite scenes in any movie is where Ellie is talking to here "dad" in "Pensacola". You know, where she's on the beach and you can see the stars reflecting light on the blue water? Well, I was wondering if anyone knew how they made that scene and its background? Or does anyone have a guess? I'm not sure,
that's why I'm asking you all. Any information would be great, Thanks.
Later. |

I remember watching something on TV that said Jodi Foster and David Morse were in front of a blue screen and the background was digitally added in along with a bunch of effects to make it look dream like. now i'm not sure if that means the background was a 3d generated image or a prerecorded film of a real beach.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking, they got some footage of a real beach and added the stars and lights and other effects with a computer... Oh well, that was a cool scene, thanks. |

Hi
If you're interested in the making of Contact
try to get a hold on the DVD version.
It's stuffed with technical goodies, very impressive.
But IMHO the movie itself stinks to high heaven... what a load of americanized religious bull!
