Well, I started out using Photoshop, and have been using it since. Its a great tool for image editing. I personally like Photoshop 4.0 better. 6.0 is too cluttered with new tools that I don't even use(the old "K" quick key for the bucket was replaced by the SPLICE TOOL??? ). Just learn to use 4.0 tools, experiment at what each button does(i.e. know what color doging, burning is, just try it in Photoshop). Besides that, all I could point you to is inspiration. This forum is a great place to start. Browse around, even the old 1999 section(which has TONS of nice tips and tutorials). Other inspiration can come from the webpages of this forum's talented artists. www.goodbrush.com to name just one(This was the first digital art site that I had ever gone to and his work truly inspired me). Click on the Forum Member's Occupation List link on the right hand top of this page. I think they have some links(?) to many artist's site. |
