I found out they have GIMP for windows, so I dowloaded it and played around. Very cool.
I was browsing the plug-in registry page, and noticed that they are written in C.
Being completely ignorant of programming, I am wondering, can I compile these plug-ins for use in the Windows version?
I dowloaded Borlands free C++ compiler, but the code wouldn't compile. Says it can't find libraries and such. Anyone help?

i've been wondering when i would see some GIMP posting on this board i've used it on Linux a bit and while it isnt as good as Photoshop, it is free, and that is a big selling point.
there shouldnt be any reason that you cant compile those plugin's. the compiler should have come with the libraries you need, but i've never used it, so i'm not sure.

It's a Photoshop like program. Seems to be able to do most things that Photoshop can do. Missing some of the advanced features, but it's free and open source, so people are always improving and writing cool new plug ins for it. Check it out. http://www.gimp.org windows version at http://www.gimp.org/~tml/gimp/win32//
