Heyia great peopple !!!
I have 2 little troubles...

1. What Wacom i have choose to begin ???
2. My broken English

Good... i has seen much great designs here in forum and in pages, someday i has discover the WACOM !! Whowww... it all is buildin using a wacom tablet... cool... but what the fu** is a wacom tablet... i go to wacom site and have seen much products.
All what i want is simple, what tablet i must buy to begin a design work ??

1. I have only about $200
2. I have a little experience in photoshop (if it help)
3. I dont know any ideia about wacom tablets

Please any help is welcome !!!

Hi. I'm new too, I just bought a wacom myself. Here's what I've found out:

The Wacom Graphire is a 4x5 inch tablet, its pretty small but probably okay for a beginner. Costs about $100 US.

Then there's the Wacom Intuos tablets, they are around $300 US and up. They are bigger (6x8, 9x12, etc) and better (They have more pressure sensitivity for example). I wish I could've gotten one of these but couldn't afford it yet.

The price kill me... look:
a good tablet = $400
In Brazil $400 = R$800 + Ship cost + Impost Cost total R$1200 or $600
I hope find a reseller in Brazil

With a wacom tablet connected you can use both, tablet and mouse to navigate in your OS...
The Intuos-style tablets are much more sophisticated than the graphire ones (I think)
Go and buy one, you wont regret it.

I don't see why people constantly perceive a 4x5 wacom to be a "beginners" or "amateur" only tool. I absolutely prefer the 4x5, and I use it professionally every single day! You can get infinite detail, or work as large as you like... it all depends on the zoom. The strokes are perfectly natural for a hi-quality, hi-detailed piece. Here are a few recent wacom pieces I've done on my 4x5:

See? Hi detail, perfectly incredible control. The 4x5 may be cheap, but that does not translate to "amateur," or "beginner."

It's just a misguided perception that I'm constantly hearing. Did I help at all?

The technical difference between the Graphire and Intuos is the number of pressure levels they detect. The Graphire has 512 while Intuos has 1024. What difference this makes to drawing I have no idea - only ever used a Graphire.
