Here's a new drawing I just finished. It's Jin Kazama from Tekken. I know this is a digital art forum, but I figured you guys wouldn't mind this ballpoint drawing =P
Crit?

Nice drawing.
something's I noticed right away.
His face is starting to look flat, you put all this nice detail into the body, but the face has almost none. Maybe it's the "style" of drawing, but the face does look flat.
The left hand, the one close to us, It looks as if it's backwards. The thumb should be pointing outward in the other direction.
It's hard to point out anatomical mistakes, as this style allows for some.
You may want to start thinking about your over all lighting. the lighting you have now is nice, it's more of a "sculptural" lighting. Try some taking the same drawing and lighting it differently.
Oh yeah, work on those hands and feet, everything else looks fine. hands and feet seem to be alot of peoples nemesis. Better get it down now, sooner or later you'll run into them again |

Thanks for the reply...looks like not many other people feel like commenting =P
Good point about the face, I didn't notice taht before, but it is rather flat. Yeah, I had some problems with his left hand. It's facing the right way, but I shaded it kinda funny, so it just looks, overall, messed up.
Later, and thanks; I appreciate the criticism ^_^

hey. the chest area looks nice. well defined! i think the head looks very 2d compared to that. also, the forearms & hands are HUGE compared to the chest and head. i dunno, depends on the style of art you're going for. manga artists take a lot of liberties with proportions, which is cool. but its tough to do that, and make it look *juuuust* right.
another thing:
kazama's left hand is turned so that the palm is facing up, right? that means his thumb should be on the outside, towards the viewer. try it with your own hand.

oops, i guess i should read other replies before posting mine. ...yeah, there's a phantom line on that thumb that's causing the confusion. i'd grab the magical eraser and get rid of it!

Nicely done. It seems that the face may be a little flat... but hey, it's kind of a style. Usually profile views in anime don't have much definition to it. On ehting that bothers me is the sandals on his feet.... tehy look like an extension of his feet and not sandals at all. (specially the one raised one) work on that and you'll have a nice picture |

Yeah. My porportions tend to always be a little off, as snime style allows it. (Kinda cheating, I guess) Unless I'm really going for something realistic, I like to make my heads too small, my hands too big, and my legs too long =P
*lol* The fist again. It is facing the right way, just horribly drawn. Here's a closer look:
Thanks for the reply ^_^
