Ok so last weak I receive a new Wacom 12x12 tablet from the company I work for, so that night I eagerly take it home and hook it up to my pc. It comes with some software called Painter classic, Ive heard of the program many times but had never used it till about 2 weeks ago. I find out to my surprise that this sucker is pressure sensitive and so on. Ive been drawing and have had an intense passion for it for as long as I can even remember. We all know paper will probably never be replaced (totally) by a computer tablet as far as art goes (After all I dont know about you but Id rather own a real painting than something printed off) but with my limited budget and space the computer comes very close to replacing my paper supply. Its a close toss up and I was just wondering what everyone elses thoughts are on the digital art movement that only our generation has experienced. |

art sucks ass, abuse machines as much as possible, it's easier and more effortless that way. to hell with the golden oldies who think machines are the devil and there is no other true art than natural media. that's bullshit. it's sad that machines are the future, but that's better of a future than pen and paper. but then again, i hate art and all things related (including my job ["graphics artist"]), so make your own conclusions. whatever the conclusion, art still sucks though.

Unless we run out of trees, paper is never going away. |

I agree with Darkmemories ... pen and paper will never be replaced (totally) , but a tablet comes close ... very close.
