Okay this is some line art (derp!) i wanted to kindof portray a ricketty robot that slouches around uneasily that uses hydrolics and gravity (weight/ counterwieght) to help it move around. So this robot winds up looking reminiscent of a doug chiang conceptual drawing spashed into a freaky wild wild west (gay movie!) robot. This line art is kindof messy cuz it looks more gay than it does without any type of gray in it. I put a little man in there for scale

I'd like a crit of the shading on the man's face as well

Yeah so anyway, here it is in it's yucky um... things. I was in the shower this morning looking for inspiration, so his head (cannon?) thingy there is a shampoo bottle.

The legs really look too much like the legs from episode one. Lucus is just going to have to suit me.

Right! here it is.

Hey this sketch could be quite good if the lines would be straight and not all wiggly. Also why so people bring they work down byt saying its crappy and such. Do you do that because you dont want others to think you are as good as the drawing you are showing. just a suggestiong if your posting it because you think its crappy why dont you workin on it until you are feeling good about it? hmm i have seen some REALLy good art people like frost do it and such but they all look great to us but not to them. hmm never mind scratch my thought about people saying their work sucks.. forget about it i dont want to start a war

Well, it's WIP, so it's okay to post it if it's crappy. hehe. j/k

The lines are all wiggly because I'm using a mouse, which really sucks big time, and my pablo tablet is almost nonfunctional, I'm going to try to figure out a better way to go over my sketches, maybe I'll have to try inking them in real life....

Finnally, i finished this and cleaned it up, it looks about 20 times better, and is lookin good.

Just needs a bit more finish up before coloring, in my opinion.

What you think, Eh?

Heh, every time I see your name I think it says "Locutus", like "Locutus of Borg". I guess I'm just a hardcore nerd.

You really need to straighten up your lines, and think more about primitive shapes. I can't see any use of perspective, so it's hard to tell where the legs are going, among other things. Also, for this reason, the robot doesn't look unified. The central, sphere shaped "hub" thing looks completely seperate from the legs, and from the upper portion.
Some of the basic shapes are missing sides, and some are flat out 2 dimensional, making it impossible to determine if they are cylindrical or box shaped, or any clear information about their orientation in space. The image is generally confusing, and I think it needs a total overhaul.

Sorry to be so harsh, but here's what you can do.
Start with primitive shapes. Draw your vanishing point, and construct your objects logically in 3D space. Construct them. That means drawing the basic shapes first and forgetting about the outlines and the detail until the whole drawing has been layed out. This is a robot, so just think about boxes and cylinders.
Only then go back and chip away at the detail.

You're getting closer with your marker drawing, but you still need perspective work. Especially on the round parts. Practice more with elipses and cylinders.

Good luck, and post any future revisions you make.
