In my pathetic effort to learn to draw human faces I think I've actually made some progress. Thanks chapel, this also ended my 2 week long painting block.
This one should be easy to bash a little :)
dhab: im looking forward to seeing how the split will affect this whole traffic situation.

I think you have a very nice start there gecko. Bashing, hehe. My biggest commeent to the face would be the parts between the nose, eye, mouth, etc...The rest of the face seem to miss some shapes and details. Like, around the eye, there should be much more happening. If it hadn't been to late, I would love to play around with this one. Ofc, this all depends on if it's supposed to look like it's carved out of wood, but I still think you could have added more differrences.
it's great that you have made the shapes so clear though. Much better to start from that than with blurred and less clear shapes.
Just for the record, incase I haven't said it to you before, you have a lot of nice work on your site, and I see your talent has grown a lot. SInce you done so many nice paintings with backgrounds and animals, and you youself feel you lack at faces (human body ?) maybe you should make a lot of paintings in that genre from now on ?

Hey Gecko. Joachim is right on, it would be nice to see you do as well with your other paintings on faces and such, you are incredibly talented, I'm sure you can handle it. =)
I'm no pro at drawing faces, Ron Lemen, Micke and Joachim are pretty hot at it -- if I had to comment on it, I'd say his eye is too far in towards the nose, and should be more outwards, not to mention higher, as there is not enough cheek and space between it and the bridge of the nose. The lips could also have been made wider and the nose less outwardws curvious, but they can be easily interpreted as basic features of some ethnic descendance, and is ok. =)
Looking forward to seeing you master this as well. =) |
