Not sure if anyone posted about this yet...if so, sorry..
Just got another book! the book is..of course...
ART OF THE MATRIX, this book is AWESOME!!!
nice VERY large hard bound book with bazillions of color and blackwhite concepts even scripts from the movie. I ordered this book in OCT, and It just now got here. If you want some great examples of pre-production artwork, storyboarding, concepts etc, then you will love this book! 500pages! It's about $70 U.S. You'll kick yourself in the ass if you don't at least flip through this book at the book store! Tell santa you want this one for Christmas

I agree with you Blitz, pretty disappointing book for such a good movie, I had it on reserve at Barnes & Noble, and put it on the shelf after seeing it, not worth it, however by me it's cost is $59 U.S., don't know where the $70 U.S. is coming from. And I live in the New York area so you think I would be getting a high price to begin with.

hmmm, Yeah, that Dean Cornwell book I bought was full of those nasy picture thingies, and some where black and white too...I really wish they would just put nothing but text in these silly expensive books

Art of the matrix is a good book if you like storyboards, amazing concept artwork, and scripts that never made it to the movie.
I enjoyed the book because each storyboard-concept artist does thier own wording, they explain why they did what and what they where thinking of while creating the panels and artwork. They pretty much did all the storyboarding and concept art before they even shot anything, this was one of the ways they got the $$$$$$$$ to make the movie. Alot was riding on these people to impress the producers with nothing but pure artwork.
Did I mention it also talks about some of the techniques the artists used to create the art? Some nice ideas in there...

oh yeah..the exact total i paid for this book, tax and all $58.59..sorry..I was thinking of the other book, it was $70.

Hey Dryfire

since I work with clients in NY, and I am only about 20 minutes away from it, in relation to where I live. I figured a generalized statement could apply. I am a little closer than Australia, I can smell NY from here , or is that all the dead bodies from the Sopranos.

What Lord of the Rings book are you talking about????

See you up on Bell
