Well. More like 1,5/7. But still.

The problem is that the HL netcode is so crappy you can never play with people from other countries... i only hang out at demon.nl which works fine, but on even NGI and Demon.uk which are fairly fast severs with lots of backbone my ping skyrockets to 200 or something...

what
new net code is valve's genius creation. It still has a flaw that they couldnt fix, that you get delay by receiving data.. they cant speed that up heh. But if you see you shot somebodys eye out, it sends that info to server and that dude dies. Before you had to hope that he stood tthere until information about his eye popping out got to server if you know what i mean..

Anyways what servers you play on? I dont play CS anymore but just to teach you that russians always win i will..

Well, after playing Rune, Valve's net code is shitty, imho. I have to spend almost more time trying to enter a server than what I play, but hey, I can show how spanish own xD

And for christ sakes Valves net code is a work of genius, people on 56ks can actually compete with people with dsl++ .

I use to, but then I stopped because the guns are so damn inaccurate(and don't anyone of you say, "you just can't aim")! Day of Defeat... there's a great mod. Check it out.

Day of defeat is pretty crappy. You just keep spawning and spawning to run around like a headless chicken. It's also annoying that the maps are so incredibly terribly designed. Every map revolves around one single bottleneck where the 2 teams meet and there the game stagnates and becomes a boring assault-die-respawn-assault-again story.

Of all the mods around, CS is by far the superior one because it's nearly peferectly balanced and sports some of the awesomest maps ever.

Preach it Spitfire!! I agree by far the most polish and balanced mod out there..

And bishop_six: There is a trick to some guys, like you can't move while you shoot, it is apart of the balance... Either that, or you just can't shoot....

That's the cool thing indeed... the gameplay is rather fast, but to compensate you cant hit shit when moving. It keeps the pace up, but also drags the firefights out.

There's nothing like bursting around a corner, confronting 3 T's, getting off a few quickies from your M4 - taking down one of them - and then backing away with only 14 health left while your buddy puts down some serious supressive fire to keep their heads down. Yummy.

shaded: that's a speed cheat. if i were you, i'd complain about them cheating for a few rounds, then find another server.

i play occasionally. mostly when jcterminal convinces me to. (hey, he's playing RIGHT NOW!) i've never been that into FPS's, perhaps because i'm a girl, perhaps just because i prefer different sorts of videogames...but of all the FPS's i can think of, counterstrike is by far my favourite.
